About

With over 23 years of experience in animation, I’ve worked as an animator, storyboarder, team lead, supervisor and director for commercials, TV series, short films and features for several studios producing for brazilian and international market.

I’m currently animation director at Fourth Wall Animation in Liverpool, where I worked for the last 4 years.

As a Lead Animator on ‘Milo S01’ I have coordinated a team of 8 animators always delivering episodes on schedule. Helped with planning and tracking productivity and collaborated with pipeline development to attend budget and schedule better. Was promoted to supervisor at the end of S01 to apply my changes to both teams, and was made Animation Director at Milo S02.

As Animation Director, I had the opportunity to review portfolios, interview animators, and build the teams. I calculated the bid hours for each shot in order to create a realistic schedule, did briefings for props creation and tested them for animation.

I approved BG layouts, approved scene set up shots, briefed animators before the episode started, allocated shots according to their experience level and reviewed animation shots until they were fully approved by directors.

I had daily meetings with production and worked closely with other department leads to improve the communication through the pipeline. Together with the leads, I animated and re-organised the main library between seasons based on the issues and gaps we experienced on S01.

Outside Milo, Fourth Wall allowed me to participate in the concept of new projects, to develop new styles of animation and process of production.

I have extensive experience in other creative steps of pre-production and production of animated pieces:

* Direction – I created and directed commercials directly with clients in Brazil from briefing to delivery, I had three scripts awarded with public funds and one independent Short film winner of Anima Mundi’s Audience Award, 15 brazilian and international prizes and acquired by brazilian Cable Broadcaster Canal Brasil

* Supervising animation for a team of 10 animators during 2 years at Copa Studio, including on Cartoon Network’s cutout series  “Tromba Trem”

* Storyboarding for TV series, such as Cartoon Network’s “Historietas Assombradas” (Copa Studio) and Discovery Kids’ “My Big Big Friend” (2DLab)

* Development of project bibles, teasers and pre-production promotional material

* Library/breakdown drawings of characters in TV series “Historietas Assombradas”

* Art Direction and Character Design from commercials to feature projects.
